Two-dimensional powder transport on a vibrating belt

چکیده
The transport of 2D powder mixtures is investigated using a model recently proposed by us to describe the fluidization of granular media. We simulate the behaviour of particles placed on a belt having vertical as well as horizontal vibrations. Using Molecular Dynamics we calculate the density field and velocity distributions of the particles and investigate the angular dependence of momentum transfer. We investigate these properties as functions of friction parameters and present predictions that might be checked experimentally.

Analytical investigation of periodic solutions for a coupled oscillator with dry friction
In this paper, we present an analytical method to investigate the behavior of a two degrees of freedom oscillator excited by dry friction. The system consists of two masses connected by linear springs. These two masses are in contact with a driving belt moving at a constant velocity. The contact forces between the masses and the belt are obtained from Coulomb’s friction laws. A set of periodic ...
متن کاملChronic Subdural Hematoma after Eccentric Exercise Using a Vibrating Belt Machine
We report a case of bilateral chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) in a 75-year-old man after exercise using a vibrating belt machine on the head. He suffered from headache and intermittent left side numbness for ten days. He denied any head injuries except eccentric exercise using a vibrating belt on his own head for 20 days. An MRI revealed bilateral CSDH. The hematoma was isodense on the CT scan...
متن کاملTwo-Dimensional Solute Transport with Exponential Initial Concentration Distribution and Varying Flow Velocity
The transport mechanism of contaminated groundwater has been a problematic issue for many decades, mainly due to the bad impact of the contaminants on the quality of the groundwater system. In this paper, the exact solution of two-dimensional advection-dispersion equation (ADE) is derived for a semi-infinite porous media with spatially dependent initial and uniform/flux boundary conditions. The...

متن کاملA New Two Dimensional Model for Pollutant Transport in Ajichai River
Accurate prediction of pollution control and environmental protection need a good understanding of pollutant dynamics. Numerical model techniques are important apparatus in this research area. So a 2500 line FORTRAN 95 version code was conducted in which using approximate Riemann solver, couples the shallow water and pollution transport agents in two dimensions by the aid of unstructured meshes...
